Glossary

Computer Controlled Cutter – A device that is controlled by a computer and used to cut out material, such as Adhesive backed vinyl, Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV), fabric, etc.

HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) – Vinyl that can be permanently bonded to fabric, wood, etc., via the application of heat.  Typically HTV is first cut on a Computer Controlled Cutter

Weeding – Weeding is the practice of removing the bits that you don’t want from a cut piece of vinyl or other material.  If you are catting out a word you would make the cut (by hand or with a computer controller cutter) and then use a sharp tool to “weed” out the bits you don’t want (anything that is not a letter or art of your images, etc.)
